1976 Dodge Big Horn Highway Tractor

This Big Horn Tractor was photographed in the Reynolds-Alberta Museum during a visit in May of 2010 and represents Chrysler Corporations sole entry into the heavy truck market. Production of these trucks lasted from 1973-1975 with a total of 261 units completed.

The truck was comprised of common parts for the period, utilizing a 350 Horsepower Cummins Diesel engine and Fuller 13 speed transmission. Power was transmitted to the tires through a set of Rockwell Timken differentials.

This vehicle was presented in “Conserved” condition and was on display as part of “The Spirit of the Machine” event which allowed museum staff to choose unique vehicles to feature from the collections.
