As part of the ongoing goal of expanding the internet\u2019s Lada reference material we decided to check the ignition timing curve on IVAN2104. The process was simple enough, remove vacuum signal to the vacuum advance pot and using a dial back timing light measure the degrees of advance while holding the engine revs at the required test speed.<\/p>\n

Our base (static) timing was set to 5 degrees and measured from the 0 degrees timing mark with the digital timing light. Mechanical advance can be solved by subtracting 5 from the values below:<\/p>\n
