The process was simple enough, remove vacuum signal to the vacuum advance pot and using a dial back timing light measure the degrees of advance while holding the engine revs at the required test speed.<\/p>\n<p>Our base (static) timing was set to 5 degrees and measured from the 0 degrees timing mark with the digital timing light.
