GTC\u2019s collected list vehicles we\u2019ve placed on the scale.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Power-to-weight ratio, we hear it all the time, in magazine articles, internet forums, and from the barstool bench racer, who will ultimately defend their own hero car claiming this one aspect as the be-all-end-all. When it comes to this \u201cperformance number\u201d the horsepower of a car or engine is usually easy to research and discover, but getting reliable vehicle weight numbers can be a greater challenge.<\/p>\n

We at Grand Touring Concepts are interested in improving many aspects of performance, not just adding power, but also improving weight, so the only way to gauge improvement is to baseline, baseline, and baseline. Whenever possible we will wheel a car out to our local self-weigh scale and see what kind of numbers it puts up.<\/p>\n

Unless otherwise noted, each vehicle is listed at a driving weight, with a nearly full fuel tank, and all items like spare tire, jack, are in place. Efforts were made to ensure each car has no additional cargo, and each was tested without driver or passenger.<\/p>\n
